WE NEED A FRONT DESK SURGERY SCHEDULER FOR THE WINTERHAVEN LOCATION
The Front Desk Surgery Scheduler will be working at the Winterhaven FL
Summary:
Surgery scheduler coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.
Work Schedule: Full Time Days
- Responsibilities:
Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
- Surgery scheduler coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
- Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
- Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
- Surgery scheduler within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
- Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
- MUST HAVE 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS FRONT DESK EXPERIENCE with surgery scheduling
- Required Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
- 2 years experience as front desk is required
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
Pay will be discussed upon interview along with the scheduling/ benefits.
