GIFT SHOP SALES ASSOCIATE (PT)

Part-Time onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Not remote-eligible.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:

Assists customers with questions about merchandise, enters purchases, and accepts payments in the Religious Catalogue Retail Gift Shop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Interact with pilgrims, visitors, guests, and the public in general in a courteous and pleasant manner.
• Answer customer’s questions and respond promptly to customer needs in a friendly and positive manner.
• Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
• Set up displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
• Stamp, mark, or tag prices on merchandise.
• Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
• Accept and process payment for merchandise in form or cash, check or credit cards.
• Record sales from register at end of day.
• Balance Register drawer at the end of the day and create a deposit
• Keep records of sales, prepare inventory of stock, and order merchandise.
• Open and close the Gift Shop.
• Answer Gift Shop phone calls.

ABOUT YOU:

• You have 1 - 3 years retail experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• You possess excellent interpersonal skills, tactful, professional and friendly.
• You are able to interact with diverse personalities.
• You are organized and detail oriented.
• You are a practicing Catholic with demonstrated knowledge of the Catholic faith and EWTN’s mission
• You have the flexibility to fill in including vacations etc. and also including some Saturdays
• You must be physically able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
