Histology Trainee - Full Time. The trainee is expected to perform all duties assigned by the supervisor in the anatomic pathology laboratory; learn the operation of technical and instrumental equipment; practice quality control procedures; assist the pathologist in making various examinations on submitted tissue specimens and subsequent preparations; learn use of computer and all automated and non automated equipment in histology; develop proficiency in performance of all duties required of a Histotechnician. Successful completion of an Associate degree in Histotechnology from an accredited college, or high school diploma and minimum of 2,000 hours in an approved hospital-based Histotechnology program, or on-the-job training under the direction of a board-certified Pathologist. Registry certified or registry eligible as HT or HTL by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist preferred. Competency in IHC/SS preferred. Lab experience preferred.
