Easterseals Florida is seeking a team member who will be responsible for obtaining authorizations for our Early Intervention and Therapy services. We would like someone with experience working with insurance companies and Florida Medicaid managed care plans, and with the skills necessary to verify patient insurance and obtain authorization for services. It's important to be detailed-oriented, organized, and have the ability to focus and work quickly. Working well in a team environment is very important.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Using insurance online portals to obtain authorization
• Making phone calls to insurance company to verify benefits and obtain authorization
• Keeping track of authorization expirations for ongoing services and getting timely re-authorization
• Gathering and sharing documentation required by the insurance company
• Enter insurance and authorization information into data system
• Communicate well with fellow team members around the state

The successful candidate will have:

• H.S. diploma or GED
• One year of experience in insurance verification, precertification, billing, or related insurance position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Detailed oral and written communications skills required
• Candidates should have solid typing speed and accuracy, and good computer skills, with the ability to utilize multiple computer systems in desktop environment to accomplish results
• Effective communication skills. Ability to work independently
