Position summary: Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the Groundsman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of small equipment; i.e., back pack blower, string trimmer, edger, push mower, walk-behind and/or riding mowers and other hand tools.
Position responsibilities:
- Willing and able to learn the efficient and safe operation and maintenance procedures of any and all Chatham Landscape maintenance equipment as deemed necessary by the appropriate department head.
- Work closely with other team members in a collaborating environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Able to report to work on time and communicate with management when tardiness or absenteeism issues may arise.
- Pay attention to details, such as weed pulling and trash pick up/job clean-up.
- Must follow all uniform and safety rules.
Hours:
- Minimum of 40 hours per week. One (1) hours per day unpaid lunch period.
- Occasional overtime and/or Saturday work required during peak seasons, to accomplish special projects, and/or to make up rain days.
