The Role:


Reporting to our Sr. Manager of Design Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the Plant Manufacturing Engineering team while overseeing the development, planning, and tracking of our fiscal reporting projects. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will design, implement, and coach the broader organization on any new processes or tooling workflows. They will help coordinate activities to maintain Ogden, UT facility and equipment processes while partnering with their cross-functional and departmental stakeholders.

This position is located in Ogden, Utah.


Responsibilities:


  • Embody and foster ownership of manufacturing processes, using lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other continuous improvement methods.
  • Devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, and information in the manufacture of products; assist the team in finding solutions to difficult and unique problems.
  • Review cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
  • Ensure compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects; recommend and implement new policies and procedures as directed.
  • Oversees activities of Manufacturing Engineering personnel to meet employee, group, and site performance objectives; provide guidance and expertise to all manufacturing engineers.
  • Support and enforce environmental policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to solve immediate technical manufacturing problems and processing concerns in a timely manner.

Required Skills

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing plant, a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • 2+ years of management experience, specifically with Manufacturing and/or Maintenance Engineers is required.
  • Proven working experience with AutoCAD, Solid Modeling, and 3D Design experience preferred.
  • Proven working experience with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment manufacturing, welding technology, materials technology, manufacturing methods and electronic control technology.
  • Proven working experience presenting data findings to the broader organization (employees, managers, and industry peers) while communicating next best steps for the business and providing training.
  • Proven working experience tracking and collecting data.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer OR SME Certified Manufacturing Engineer preferred, not required.
