MNT Dietitian Job at NORTHEAST VALLEY HEALTH CORPORATION
DEFINITION
A person who possesses registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), or is eligible to take the RDN exam and becomes registered within 12 months of hire. This person provides or teaches normal and therapeutic diets to individuals and groups, modifies diets for special populations, performs nutrition assessments on individuals, and makes recommendations to improve nutritional status.
Reports to: Associate Director, Quality & Health Education
Qualifications:
1.Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) accredited internship program.
2.Passed the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist exam – OR - appointees not actively registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration will have twelve (12) months from date of appointment to become registered or be removed from the position.
3.Experience with special nutritional needs.
4.A working knowledge of cultural foods, particularly Hispanic.
5.Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.
6.Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports.
7.Basic leadership skills.
8.Demonstrated supervisory skills sufficient to supervise dietetic interns.
9.Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
10.Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.
11.Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
12.Very effective oral and written communications skills including public speaking experience.
13.Effective work organization skills.
14.Ability to work effectively as a team player.
