Neuropsychology Technician : Job Description

Focus:

This position supports the core activities of the neuropsychology testing service including administering and scoring psychological and neuropsychological tests and questionnaires, maintaining patient test files, test equipment stocks, and neuropsychology databases for tracking reports.

Provides clinical neuropsychology services in partnership with neuropsychologist. Also performs database management, administration of tests, scoring, reporting of clinical measures, and communications with patient families to complete intake questionnaires. Training provided.

Responsibilities:

• Administers, scores, and reports on more than 30 different verbal, nonverbal, written, and computerized neuropsychological and psychological tests in outpatient settings.

• Reviews neuropsychological examination records and ensures that they are complete and accurate.

• Maintains patient test files.

• Ensures availability of tests and test protocols and assists in ordering test materials.

• Assists in scheduling assessments for patients.

• Assists in maintaining the neuropsychology database.

• Helps gather special records such as previous medical and psychological reports from other services as required to complete patient evaluations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, or a minimum of junior status in an undergraduate psychology program; experience working with patients across the lifespan.

• Familiarity with PC hardware and basic software.

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and organizational skills.
