Nurse Practitioner / Physicians Assistant Job at St Clair Specialty Physicians PC
Job Description
In collaboration with the attending Nephrologist, develops and implements a plan of care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively identify, evaluate and address disease preventions and health promotion issues of the population in practice while administering quality patient care.
- Work both independently and interdependently with all members of the medical staff.
- Participate in rounds on patients both in the hospital and in dialysis units and document the pertinent findings, diagnosis and care plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential electronic medical records, completing records in a timely fashion.
- Bill appropriately for clinic/dialysis/hospital patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Educate patients and/or families about preventive, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
- Participate in ongoing research studies.
- Access to Personal Health Information (PHI).
- Perform other tasks and duties as requested or assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Completion/graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner/ physician assistant program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the State of Michigan
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Certification as a Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (CCPA)
