Job Summary

We are expanding to new markets and one we are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) in an Ear Nose and Throat Practice in our new Laredo, Texas office.

The National Sinus Institute (NSI) was originally founded in 2009 as a rural ENT practice in Los Alamos, NM, operating under the name of ENT Associates of Los Alamos. From the beginning, our organization had a vision of providing Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) specialty care to patients across New Mexico, especially in those parts of the state with a disparity of ENT providers. As we continued to grow we recognized the need to provide high-quality ENT practices across the country, where we expanded into several communities in Texas. Our vision expanded to create an organization that could help to meet the needs of these underserved communities throughout the United States.

We are committed to finding high-quality providers who focus on providing compassionate care to each patient. We welcome patients of all ages from pediatric to adults and treat all general ENT needs, but with a unique focus in sinus care, allergy, hearing and sleep apnea. As we add new providers with other areas of interest we will continue to expand the services we provide.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Works in concert with the surgeon in managing patient-centered care for the residents of the region, including new and established patients, office procedures, post-operative care, documentation, patient education, and communication.
• Available by phone to the surgeon, supervisors, and local physicians.
• Interfaces with area healthcare providers and allied health groups.
• Interprets diagnostic tests including lab and radiographic studies for deviations from normal.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including nasal endoscopy, laryngoscopy, Epley maneuver, cerumen removal, biopsy, infection management etc. We provide comprehensive training on these procedures.
• Develops and implements patient management plans.
• Completes timely documentation of patient encounters and billing paperwork.
• Demonstrates a patient-centered care philosophy through professional, compassionate, service-oriented care.
• Participates as a team player and edifies support staff.
• Assists in development, implementation, and update of processes affecting medical practice and quality of care.
• Participates in the development and growth of the regional practice, including the use of telemedicine.
• Travel to outlying clinics may be required.
• Performs other functions as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Graduation from an accredited master’s level physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (FNP, APRN) program, holds required certification, and possesses a Master's degree or higher. Eligible for licensing in the state of Texas. One year of working experience preferred, however, strong new graduate applicants are always considered.
