Job Description


Kofile Products has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller to join our organization. The Plant Controller will primarily be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the plant’s accounting records by analyzing, recording and reconciling transactions in the general ledger. This multifaceted role will not only assist with transactional GL accounting at plant but will also provide assistance to the Plant Manager in making sound business decisions. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys managing and improving systems and processes and analyzing information to surface actionable insights for the business. The position reports to the Corporate Controller based in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare assigned journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations to support timely and accurate monthly financial close process
  • Manage Staff of two accounting clerks
  • Oversee all day-to-day financial operations for the plant
  • Assist the Plant Manager on all financial decisions and provide thoughtful insight on more efficient ways to run the business
  • Prepare flux analysis on monthly basis to understand trends and identify missing accruals, working closely with Corporate accounting to provide explanations to management
  • Support annual audit process, taking active role in preparing year-end audit requests
  • Support and help to improve control environment
  • Other accounting duties and related projects as assigned

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing facility required
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Full cycle GL accounting experience required (month-end, year-end close..etc.)
  • CPA (or progress towards certification) preferred
  • Prior experience with large ERP (Netsuite preferred)
  • Understanding of GL structure and accounting control requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong excel skills over large amounts of data (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and Charts)
  • Team player with ability to collaborate with other plant departments
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and exceptional time management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
