Maas Energy Works is the leading developer and operator of on-farm, waste-to-energy systems on the west coast. The Company designs, develops, constructs, and operates biogas powered renewable energy generation systems on dairy farms. Our projects include anaerobic digesters, biogas-powered electric generation, and renewable compressed natural gas upgrading.

Position Description:

Maas Energy Works (MEW) is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to be responsible for the design and management of the process and overall system design of a new biogas upgrading skid developed by Maas Energy Works. The biogas upgrading skid will include biogas compression, chilling, CO2 removal, gas analysis, measurement, and other processes needed to upgrade biogas to biomethane for delivering into the natural gas pipeline or compressed trailers. The Process Engineer will work with the product manager, equipment vendors, fabrication team, and other stakeholders to develop the process and overall systems design of the biogas skid and then provide engineering support to assembly, commissioning, and operations. The Process Engineer will need to have relevant experience designing industrial gas handling equipment, with a great understanding of overall system design and optimizing equipment for the use. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
• Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
• Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
• Perform process simulations
• Manage cost and time constraints
• Perform risk assessments
• Provide process documentation and operating instructions

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven work experience in process engineering
• Excellent technical skills
• Knowledge of process related standards
• Experience in process simulations
• Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
• CAD or AutoCad skills
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations
• Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
• BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Must be proficient in English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $83,200.00 - $136,500.00 per year
