Purchasing agents are responsible for researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services. Then, they select the most suitable ones in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency to ensure that their company is getting a good deal from the purchase.

Purchasing Agent Job Summary:

• Day Shift
• Pay Rate ranges from $16 - $17 p/h
• Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
• Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
• Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
• Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
• Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of materials and finished parts for production
• Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
• Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spending
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance iin buyer-supplier power
• Monitor and forecast levels of demand

Qualifications:

• Provides a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management, this candidate will take a pro-active approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes, and securing quality suppliers of materials and components covering price delivery and quality targets.
• At least 2 years experience
• Strong computer skills
