Trading Company located in Irvine is seeking a Purchasing (or Purchasing Team Leader)
Title: Purchasing (Temporary (about 3 months) to Hire
Salary: 50K-55K (DOE)
Location: Irvine, CA
Work hour: M-F 7-4
(Temporary -3 months) to Hire)
Responsibilities:
Follow SOP, read emails and abide by company policies and procedures- Responsible for day to day planning and operations of the purchasing group
- Effective communicator and motivator within the group
- Identity problems and solve them as needed
- Work well with people and provide productive and positive working environment with strong work ethics
- Delegate duties, track progress and prepare report as needed
- Obtain FOS from company, no purchase order can be released without a formal order sheet
- Obtain order acknowledgement from vendors
- Terms and conditions requiring extended year deliveries (multi-year contracts) must be discussed by Vice President of Sales
- Monitor claims (RODS) pertaining to shortage, over shipments and documentation issues with suppliers
- Hold meetings to educate, sample products, improve, work and obtain feedback from the group
- Discuss and coordinate delivery issues with the Operations department
- Discuss quality issues with the Quality Control department
- Initialize discussions with potential suppliers that company for possibilities of Agent representation
- Report to appropriate manager on a daily and as needed basis
- Initiate and practice Kaizen
- Special assignments as directed by the Executive Officers
Required Experiences
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP Business One
- years of purchasing experience and/or combination of education and experience
- Posses general management knowledge
- Strong negotiation, math, problem solving, multi-tasking, customer service, organizational and motivational skills
- Excellent verbal/ written communication skills
- Ability to listen and accurately collect information
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Working in a professional manner at all times
Working Conditions:
Escort or accompany customers, traveling
Visit to suppliers or manufactures as needed
Fast paced working environment
Seminars as approved and identified by management
