Responsibilities associated with this position are typically performed in an office setting or designated administrative area and may require visits to additional company facilities out-of-state. Daily movement through industrial and manufacturing areas is required along with the use of appropriate personal protective wear and consistent observance of established safety policies at all times.

Summary of position:
The Quality Assurance Engineer identifies the appropriate supplier quality standards of products, develops quality systems and oversees the execution of quality standards and systems. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Main responsibilities:

• Assure final product quality through development and implementation of First Article •Inspection (FAI) and Operator Process Control Awareness (OPCA) plans.
• Manage customer, government and other third party visits relative to customer, process, product audits and inspections
• Resolve corrective action requests involving customer issues
• Input data into the customer’s electronic database pursuant to their prescribed format
• Implement 8D tools to resolve internal issues.
• Interface with relative personnel to resolve problems/issues with internal and external products
• Recommend methods for improved utilization of resources
• Review quotes, purchase orders and sales orders submitted by customer service, for quality requirements
• Participate in nonconforming material (NCMR) investigations internally and externally
• Submit customer variation request documentation when required
• Prepare Quality Assurance activity information, in response to customer requests.
• Use Failure and Analysis Tools to correct issues.
• Receive, distribute and maintain a QA data base of all customer, supplier and regulatory alerts.
• Train personnel as required, on any documents in the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Represent Quality Assurance in Launch Task meetings
• Represent Quality Assurance in critical design review meetings

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Five years of quality assurance and inspection experience
• Efficient use of computer based software systems such as MS Office
• NDT Experience
• Familiarity and understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerancing
