• Learn policies, practices, and workflows

• 
  Work with administrators of the case management system to extract case-level data

• 
  Clean and analyze data from the case management system

• 
  Assist in development and updating of internal and external dashboards

• 
  Conduct statistical analysis of data to generate accurate and up-to-date monthly, quarterly, annual, and on-request reports

• 
  Create appropriate data visualizations including maps, spreadsheets, tables, graphs and PowerPoint presentations

• 
  Respond in a timely fashion to requests for data and reports from executive team

• 
  Prepare succinct policy and/or research briefs on prosecutorial and criminal justice practice as needed

• 
  Suggest and implement modifications that improve office data reliability (improved recording practices, cross-agency data pipelines, etc.)

• 
  Implement a broad approach to problem identification and problem solving in the prosecutorial setting

Requirements:

• Graduate degree in the social sciences (exceptions can be made for those who only Bachelor’s degree if they have at least 5 years of experience with criminal justice research)

• 
  Proficiency in one or more statistical programs (Stata, R, SPSS, SAS, etc.)

• 
  Familiarity with structure and process of criminal justice system (experience working with criminal justice agency data preferred)

• 
  Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex research findings to broader audiences and to develop clean, visually compelling reports

• 
  Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and with a team.
