JOB SUMMARY

The Safety, Quality &Training Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all company staff are properly trained in accordance with the company training programs. They are responsible for assisting in the administration of the safety and quality programs by conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. They will also be responsible for managing the proper investigations of any incidents assigned to them and insuring the proper implementation of any/all corrective actions. Will interact with various organizational team members in the performance of thorough and on-going needs analysis to identify training programs necessary to address skill gaps. Will coordinate, plan, organize and effectively deliver training on various skills, policies, SOP's, and areas of compliance. Will continually review the effectiveness and ROI of company training.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes, plans, coordinates, and presents various forms of classroom, electronic, and on the job training.
  • Develops and coordinates the production of course content, classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals.
  • Develops unique training programs to fulfill staff specific needs to maintain and enhance their job and personal skill set.
  • Assists in the performance of needs analysis to identify and define present and future training needs.
  • Maintains records of training and development programs, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Coordinates training to meet organizational goals while adhering to approved training budget.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Safety & Quality Management systems and their underlying principles.
  • Assist in the development, revision and management of company manuals and procedures as it relates to the safety, quality, and training programs.
  • Performs audits, spot-checks, and manages investigations related to safety, quality, and training programs.
  • Professional and accurately answer training questions and present themselves in a manner that exemplifies the training being presented.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with both staff and customers; seeks guidance when necessary.
  • Adheres to and functions within well-established safety policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations including assuring all aspects of a safe work environment for employees and customers.
  • Creates an environment that promotes and recognizes diversity in the workplace; supports diversity through hiring, retention, and promotional activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and timely attendance as set forth by company guidelines.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (a minimum of 2- 3 years of education and experience) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience conducting classroom, virtual, and field training is required.
  • A minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience in warehousing, cargo handling or ground handling is required.
  • Enhanced knowledge of various teaching, coaching, and training methods and approaches.
  • Highly Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and computer-based training software are required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must reside within the company's geographical footprint, which is in Rockford Illinois or surrounding area.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Regular attendance with flexibility of working any shift in a 24/7 operation.
  • Ability to clear a fingerprint based criminal history check as necessary for FAA, TSA, and Port Authority.
  • Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, 'fax' machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, computers, etc.).
  • Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner both internally and externally.
