The Sales Manager will direct the activities of the Distribution Center to continually serve the customers within the company’s target market in an exemplary and professional manner so that the company’s brand name and reputation will continue to flourish. The Sales Manager provides leadership and management for all hourly personnel in the Distribution Center. Working to earn an acceptable rate of return on sales. Managing the “bottom line” with a strong track record in selling mechanical Insulation and related products.

Sales Manager Essential Functions/Qualifications/Education:

  • Be the liaison between DC/branch. Discuss branch end user sells needs and communicate to DC team on best support offerings
  • Assist local markets/branches on tool/consumables/safety selling strategies and best practices. Work with territory management on salespeople strategies and incentive ideas
  • Create monthly promos for DC to branch
  • Create monthly promos for branch to end user
  • Maintain P&L budgeted sales in the DC
  • Coordinate with local vendor reps to assist in DC to branch sales and end user targets
  • Manage/move slow and dead inventories
  • Work with DC buying team on competitive challenges – both cost points and sell points
  • Work closely with Complementary Products Manager on market issues and pricing at the branch level
  • Work on showroom resets at the branch to improve proper tools and accessories for better customer shopping experience
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis
  • Manages and directs inside sales staff including recruitment, selection and development of inside sales personnel to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and evaluates company personnel’s performance.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting inside sales representatives with developing and maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Liaison between customers and inside sales representatives when needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Make sales calls to new and existing customers.
  • Develops and delivers sales presentations for new or existing customers in coordination with internal or vendor sale representatives.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and credit department when necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key influencers of assigned contractors and/or strategic partners.
  • Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships
  • Prepares and reviews periodic inside sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion with Branch Manager.
  • Participate in annual product inventory count
  • Coordinate, prepare and maintain budgets for the inside sales department aligning with annual budgetary requirements.
  • Review orders entered into the management system to ensure accurate pricing for customers.
  • Maintains all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations.
  • Ensure each order in system is priced correctly
  • Provide assistance in answering questions related to order fulfillment of special orders to inside sales team
  • Communicates key customer feedback or issues directly to the Branch Manager.
  • Attend all inside sales meetings.
  • Attend and participate in required company training session and essential vendor trainings.
  • Participate in trade associations, conferences and shows to promote company.
  • Current on market conditions, industry trends and new product information.

  • Ensure the company is delivering highest quality products and services to customers
  • Participates as member of the management team to establish organizational direction for the company.
  • Ensures that all Account Executives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
  • Maintain operating knowledge of software system

  • Develop solid business relationships with new or existing customers
  • Knowledge of basic construction materials and optimal product distribution
  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2+ years of management experience
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and build a team, along with motivating and leading a successful team.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Knowledgeable in building materials industry.
