Job Description
The Child and Family Therapist II School-based (CFT II-SB) position is a critical component in the success of Children's Wisconsin's Mental and Behavioral Health's strategies of increasing Access, reducing Stigma, engaging in Early Detection, and Prevention and Education.
- Works as a core member of a multi-disciplinary, integrated care team that includes school psychologists, school counselors, social workers, teachers and other identified school and community partners.
- Typical activities include mental health condition management, individual, family and group therapy and treatment planning, anticipatory guidance, and early intervention for common childhood MBH concerns in one or more school based clinic settings.
- Uses trauma-informed, evidence-based and inclusive practices. Additional duties include consultation, education, and outreach to colleagues, trainees, family, and community members.
Requirments
- Master's Degree in Social Work or related field, plus 3000 hours post Master's experience or PhD or PsyD from an APA accredited program preferred.
- Candidates who have completed their 3000 hours and are just awaiting issuance of full license may be considered for a Child & Family Therapist I level. Will also consider candidates in process of completing their 3000 hours of post degree experience.
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Counselor (LPC) from the State of Wisconsin and satisfy continuing education requirements preferred. Will consider candidates with in-training certificate or QTT.
- Preferred experience working with children and families in a school or integrated health care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality individual, group and family therapy using Evidence-Based Practices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with caregivers, colleagues, medical staff, and community partners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Posting Description
- This position has options and can be full time year round, or full time during the school year and part time in the summer. The schedule has flexibility to be .8FTE, .9FTE, or 1.0 FTE. This position is working in a high school.
- Candidates who have completed their 3000 hours and are just awaiting issuance of full license may be considered for a Child & Family Therapist I level.
