We have an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant working remotely

We are Jet East, A Gama Aviation Company, and one of the nation’s leading aviation maintenance providers. Our specialties include scheduled maintenance, on-demand mobile maintenance for unscheduled events, and related services in the areas of structural repairs, composite work, non-destructive testing (NDT) and paint capabilities.

This Senior Account will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will assist with financial reporting, tax reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end close process adhering to strict deadlines
• Perform variance analysis and account reconciliations
• Help develop segment reporting and profitability analysis
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury for accuracy.
• Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliation preparation
• Assist with financial and tax audits
• Record, maintain and reconcile fixed assets, inventory and related depreciation accounts.
• Ensuring that Gama processes and systems enhancements are delivered and spread consistently through the business
• Assist with periodic forecasts and budgets

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting roles or a minimum of 3 years experience in accounting and assurance roles
• Experience with inventory & fixed assets highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Technically strong with a high level of financial and management accounting experience
• Fully conversant with US GAAP
• Familiarity with IFRS a plus
• Ability to quickly adapt to a complex operating environment and engender confidence through your involvement with department heads, senior management and financial staff
• Confident individual with strong communication skills at all levels and across all disciplines
• Systems proficiency in Excel and general accounting and reporting software
• Exposure to an international environment, high transaction levels and varied sector experience all highly desirable
