Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting with developing, coordinating, and delivering financial education programs in person or online to stakeholders. This role will also provide coaching and mentoring services for employees, customers, and community members to help them increase their knowledge, skills, awareness, and confidence to become financially empowered.
This position is primarily responsible for the Texas Regions of First United Bank, with focus on the Central Texas Region.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Develops, organizes, and creates financial education for workshops, coaching, and online resources for different stakeholders and customers (i.e., K-12 financial literacy for Schools, Employees, Customers. etc.).
- Assists with financial well-being/empowerment for our organization by developing community and banking center relationships to promote the Financial Well-Being pillar and encourage participation in webinars, workshops, and challenges.
- Facilitates employee and customer one-on-one financial coaching.
- Listens, learns, and identifies the financial needs and goals of others, helping them think through potential challenges and assists in building a personalized financial well-being action plan.
- Provides information, tools, and links to resources or existing programs to assist individuals/families with their financial well-being.
- Leads the preparation and implementation of employee Spend Life Wisely FWB events and training.
- Responsible for developing and implementing train-the-trainer opportunities to generate additional facilitators/champions.
- Responsive to customer and employee needs and requests. Proactively solicits feedback as required.
- Collects data to identify service needs and KPIs. Establish and evaluate measurable outcomes.
- Researches trends, customer needs, and market segments to identify ways to improve future offerings.
EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in financial education, financial counseling/coaching, financial planning, training, teaching, or similar required.
- Experience in training, teaching, and/or facilitating education workshops required (financial education workshops preferred)
- Fluent in Spanish desired but not required.
Technical/Functional Competencies
- Understand, honor, and protect all stakeholder confidentialities.
- Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
- Attend financial coaching training, Train-the-Trainer workshop, Training from the Back of the Room, and any additional training offered by First United.
- General knowledge and understanding of behavioral finance.
- Proven ability to successfully apply financial coaching skills while addressing stakeholders’ finances, budgeting, and credit management.
- Ability to develop and produce educational content (i.e., articles, workshop materials, course curriculum, etc.).
- Possess strong organizational skills and effective listening skills.
- Possess the ability to empathize with stakeholders.
- Ability to interact with people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, economic status, health, age, and educational barriers.
- Ability to adapt to various work schedules. Occasional evening and weekend workshops or webinars as needed.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Canva, etc.).
- Well-organized and self-directed. Possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with great attention to detail.
- Assist with any additional tasks as needed.
