Department Overview

The Data as a Service (DaaS) platform and organization intends to develop a centralized data strategy and roadmap to enable TD to shift to a data-driven organization and help us extract value from the data we create, collect and consume to maximize customer and colleague benefit. Our vision is to provide fast access to trusted data assets in the most cost-effective manner. As a colleague in the DaaS organization you will play a critical role in helping TD to shift to an even more data-driven organization, democratizing data for strategic consumption and use, and helping us extract more value from the data we create, collect and consume to better serve our stakeholders.
Within DaaS, the Enterprise Data Management team is responsible for delivering data management strategies and capabilities to manage data through the entire lifecycle of data, from the time it is captured and stored, through data movement and use and ultimately to its destruction.

Job Description

Support data management leadership in establishing, defining, and managing the execution strategy, operating mode capability and product roadmap for Data Management
 Interface with the architecture groups on data management capability evaluation and tool selection and implementation to ensure data management tools conform to established policy and standards
 Coordinate change management across first line teams and partners
 Communicate impacts and analysis of data management trends to Senior Leaders
 Oversee / lead / manage and plan work activities that may require alignment across multiple areas 
Lead the team in the development and/or integrated implementation of data management policies / processes / procedures / changes across multiple functional areas 
Act as a strategic partner by leading relationships with key enterprise partners and interfacing with respective leadership team to effectively clarify scope of accountabilities while influencing and aligning others as needed
 Ensure an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the overall function providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership
 Forecast programs / initiatives and demand, and coordinate prioritization of the portfolio/ initiatives with key stakeholders 
Provide functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate, and aligned to data lifecycle management strategies and executive management direction

Job Requirements

  • College/University degree or comparable professional education, experience, and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Relevant work experience with designing and implementing large data management systems/applications with ETL/Data integration is a plus
  • Relevant work experience with establishing strategies, managing large stakeholder groups and implementing large scale data management capabilities (catalogs & lineage solutions, data quality and data lifecycle management capabilities, reference data and data domains)
  • Experience with modern cloud data management tools is a plus
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Occasional travel to US Business locations is required
