Staff Accountant Job at North Olympic Healthcare Network
North Olympic Healthcare Network’s Accounting Department is looking for a full-time Accountant to join our team.
Your role as an Accountant:
- Understand and maintain a working knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Create, prepare and/or post monthly journal entries and year-end adjustments as needed.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist and review bank reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audits as necessary.
- Prepare, review, and report tax related forms on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Prepare and understand accounts payable as a back-up to the Financial Coordinator.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Participate in various meetings including special project teams.
- Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
- Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for:
- A finance professional with Associate Degree in Accounting (Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or CPA) and 2+ years of full-cycle GAAP accounting experience (A/P, General Ledger, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Comfort/experience with accounting systems, extra consideration if the system focuses on non-profit or grant driven industries.
- Knowledge of full cycle accounting.
- Must be self-directed and motivated to achieve high work standards.
- Experience with tax preparation and filing.
- A team player who has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A clear communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
