The Role
Selected candidate must possess substantial experience with structural analysis techniques for aircraft primary structural details, assemblies, and installations utilizing both metallic and composite materials. Stress analyst must have the ability to generate sizing solutions using classical methods and using the latest computer tools to support initial sizing of airframe structures. This would include the ability to analyze composite and metallic joints using conventional fastening methods. Analyst must have a practical perspective in producing solutions when all of the design information is not available or complete. Structural analysts will be expected to work independently in support of the development of advanced assembly techniques in collaboration with design, manufacturing, materials and processes, and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will draw upon their experience to aid in the analysis of aircraft primary structure. Collaboration and a forward thinking approach are important to ensure we remain the supplier of choice for our customers. You will also be the face of Quest Defense to your customers. Through listening to customer challenges, and building on your previous experiences, you will find creative approaches that will solve their most difficult engineering problems.
Potential Job Functions
The essential description of the role is working with a major defense contractor on aircraft structures, and owning the design and/or structural analysis of a component.
- Support technical substantiation using FEA analysis
- Contribute and present in technical and program reviews
- Design and Analysis using CAE tools (NX, Nastran/Patran, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS workbench)
- Direct interface with other internal/external engineering areas
- Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems.

Qualifications
We’re excited to talk to you if your qualifications meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis or Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 1 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
- Expertise with aero structures is desired
- Geometry and mesh preparation
- Model setup and analysis
- Post-process and prepare high-quality presentations of results
- Document all work according to customer requirements
- Prepare and present reports on findings
- Strength, fatigue, and durability properties
- Materials, processes, and part standards
- Experience with UG NX, Nastran/Patran, ANSYS (Classic or workbench)
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Like to work in a fast paced, creative environment
- Airframe experience with Advanced Composite Materials is a plus

- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)
- Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP), prior to the commencement of employment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
