Student Service Aides (SSA) provide direct educational and personal care support to the students based on their individual educational plan. Student Service Aide

General Job Responsibilities

• Encourages independence and assists students to reach their educational goals as outline in their individual educational plan
• Assists students with activities of daily living including, but not limited to, personal care, feeding toileting, transferring, and transporting students throughout the extensive campus
• Ability to work with a wide range of assistive technology to increase student’s independence
• Supports students with social emotional concerns and assists them in developing positive social skills
• Works with student in the diverse settings the campus has to offer including but not limited to, playgrounds, aquatic center, barn, gym, auditorium, and special events an ensures a safe and positive learning environment

Mentorship / Professional Growth

• Full time manager and assistant manager on site to provide support
• Professional growth, career advancement opportunities, and opportunity to mentor new staff
• Ability to have career progression into the ESMA vast network of departments such as Assistive Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred experience working with children and/or adults with physical, behavioral, learning, and/or socioemotional disabilities
• 1-3 years' experience as a personal care assistant or school aide preferred
