JOB TITLE: Tech Support Coordinator
LOCATION: Skokie School – Technology Office
CHARACTERISTICS: Classified employee, 12-month contract
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
SUPERVISES: In some cases, those individuals assigned to provide additional office support
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by the CFO, possibly the Superintendent
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
To support an efficient and effective functioning educational technologies environment in which students and staff can take full advantage of instructional and administrative programs and other available resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide technology support
- Software Admin for technology software and resources (quote requests, license distribution and troubleshooting)
- Configure, image, and maintain district Macs (800+) (desktops and laptop) and iPads
- Track, respond and assign support for Help Desk tickets
- Solve end user support issues (desktop or laptop) remotely or in person
- Provide Tech support for District Printers (small & large format)
- Manage and track hardware repairs for iPad, Macs, Viewsonics, Apple TVs and Printers
- Configure, maintain, and update Google Mail system users
- Maintain, update and support system users for Microsoft Office, MyViewBoard, Prowise, Apple School Manager, Adobe, and Papercut
Assist in management of routers and switches
- With direction from Network Coordinator, manage routers, switches, and VLAN system
Manage web filtering system
- Configure, maintain, update, and support Web Filtering system
- Unblock and block websites
Provide hardware and software training
- Provide basic training to users at all levels of technology experience as necessary in District systems, Mac OS, iPad OS, Apple TV OS, Prowise, Printers, and other software and hardware as needed
- Provide training in instructional and administrative hardware and other devices
- Provide training in instructional and administrative online systems
Assist in Management of Servers and Data Center
- Assist in maintenance of KVM Switch system
- Assist in maintenance of servers including (but not limited to) Help Desk system, District intranet server, District web server, virtualized severs, Email and Email Filtering, District Wireless system
Manage technology inventory
- Maintain software license database for all District software (Apple School Manager/VPP)
- SOPPA Compliance verification and support for SOPPA process
- Hardware fleet management for all District computers, printers, and other technology hardware (jamf)
- Viewsonic deployment and Admin Manager
Support miscellaneous systems
- Interact with ISCorp (Skyward) and Citrix Workspace for support issues
- Student testing admin and support
- Technology recycling management
- Technology support for district meetings, trainings and board meetings
8. Team Leadership
- Work closes and cooperatively with the Instructional Technology Coordinator as well as building principals and other school staff members to facilitate team problem solving and eventual student success
- Maintains notes/records for the successful operation of the team
- Allows for and participates in collaborative decision making within both the team and the school environments
- Assists with the communication of building and district tech policies, decisions, and related announcements to team members
- Works cooperatively with the building and district administration to ensure the effective operation of district technology and function of the technology team
- Attends all required meetings as determined by administration

- Participates in meetings, workshops and/or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions
- Assists in training of new tech team employees
- Provide recommendations for technology budgets and purchases for the purpose of assisting with the design and implementation of the district master plan for technology
OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
FBI Fingerprint clearance required.
TB Test within last 90 days of hire date.
Physical Exam within the last year of hire date.
Mandatory District-wide Compliance Training, as assigned.
Must have strong organizational, communication and public relations skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be patient, persistent and positive.
Excellent technical competencies in a variety of areas including writing and editing, organization, problem-solving, multi-tasking, statistical record keeping, prioritizing and the like.
EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION
College Degree preferred; School District experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate degree of physical stamina with occasional lifting of 10 to 60 pounds. Ability to move freely to various locations within office and school settings. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Starting salary will be $56,000 or commensurate with experience. Salary and fringe benefits will be evaluated annually by the School Board.

1. Be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse as delineated by the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987.
2. Must complete vision and hearing screening certification and current CPR certification.
3. Have interpersonal skills to work professionally with children, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities:
A registered nurse will provide health care services to students consistent with the practice of nursing
established under the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987. The provision of these services will be under the
supervision of a certified school nurse.
Health services provided by the registered nurse shall include:
1. Emergency care of first aid for students and staff for injuries or illness, with appropriate
follow up.
2. Maintaining information regarding students with health conditions and restrictions and sharing
this information with appropriate school staff.
3. Conducting vision and hearing screenings.
4. Monitoring and maintaining student health records for compliance with state mandates.
Contact parents to ensure all children meet the health and immunization requirements.
5. Maintaining emergency information on students.
6. The registered nurse administers medication to students in accordance with board policy
and under the supervision of a certified school nurse.
7. Completing accident report forms.
8. Completing health histories for case study evaluations.
9. Monitoring specific health problems. Is willing to be trained to provide health management
of students with specialized health needs.
10. Monitoring attendance reports and follow up on student absences.
11. Participating in Pupil Services Team meetings.
12. Preparing all state and local reports related to health and welfare of students.
13. Performing other assigned duties or assume responsibilities as assigned by the
building principal or pupil services director.
