Westerville Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic and detail oriented Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Overnight shifts, potentially 3 days on, 4 off.

We go way beyond vaccines, routine surgeries and a cushy 9-5 schedule. We work hard, we help those who at times are truly in dire need of help, we go home tired, we rest, we play, or party, and spend time with our families, and then after fully resting we do it all over again. It is worth it! It will always be worth it no matter how hard this profession pushes us! Our practice will bring you laughter and celebration as some of our cases can often provide. It will also at times bring a little bit of heartache when the inevitable end of life occurs with our cases. Yet, even in those moments of sadness, we have found our clients to be the most grateful of all. Veterinary medicine is also "people medicine." We strive to help the whole family, not just their pets. We have a loyal client base that knows our staff by name-- and often brings us snacks or even homemade baked goods! We have regular staff training and regularly close down the clinic for several hours to host guest speakers. It is our goal to have the most knowledgeable staff in the area, and we reward our staff by providing benefits, and paid time off. In addition to daytime services our hours are expanding late December until 2am daily. Second and Third shift options are now available if you are a night owl that prefers quieter shifts with less staff.

About the Position...

This position is scheduled for a minimum of 36 hours per week but can at times approach more than 40 hours. Nightly duties of our technicians include, but are not limited to:

• Patient Check-Ins and Discharges
• Excellent client communication, including going over estimates for services, and understanding why each item within the estimate is being recommended.
• Obtain Medical Histories
• Monitoring hospitalized patients
• IV Catheter Placement
• Intubation
• Anesthetic Induction and Monitoring
• Acquiring Digital Radiographs and submitting them to a boarded radiologist for review
• Fear Free Restraint
• Accurate Invoicing
• Organizing, and Managing Nightly Workflow
• Other Relevant Duties, as Required

Position Requirements...

This position requires a positive attitude, at least two years of clinical experience in the veterinary field and a willingness to be mentored, as needed. This is the evening and night shift. Technicians on this shift need to be willing to learn to work independently and multitask. You may double as technician and receptionist during the slowest hours of the night. We are willing to train applicants during the day shift for a few weeks before transitioning over to night shift.
