Job Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the VP of Finance must be a strategic individual who can lead people. The VP of Finance is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of financial management, including accounting, treasury, regulatory and financial reporting, financial risk management, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The incumbent must have strong leadership qualities and business acumen. The position requires a strong background in ALM, complex fixed income investments, as well as secondary markets. The position will provide strategic support to senior management including preparing executive and senior management financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, and other projects requested by executive and senior management.

  • Create an inspiring team environment with a culture of open communication.
  • Discover and provide ongoing training needs and provide appropriate coaching for team.
  • Direct all aspects of accounting and treasury function, to include all transactions related to general ledger, ALM, investments, secondary markets and financial reporting.
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase revenue, profitability, and manage all aspects of balance sheet performance.
  • Responsible for the annual budgeting processes.
  • Develop and coordinate all relationships with partners and third parties.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), NCUA and other regulatory agency guidelines. Adhere to all compliance standards set forth by Federal and State laws and Regulations.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • This position directly supervises management of department.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of similar or related demonstrated experience in a financial institution.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Must also be experienced and knowledgeable with rules and regulations governing investments, ALM, lending, secondary markets, etc.


Language Skills

Fluent English language skills required. Ability to read, analyze, explain, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive and complex inquiries or complaints.
