Operative Cake has opportunities for reliable Warehouse Selectors to assist in the transport of baked goods and snacks to the greater New York area. These products are delivered to a major NYC institution, encompassing approximately 1,500 sites. The service area is inclusive of all five boroughs. As a dedicated carrier, our mission is to leverage our scale and our knowledge of information technology and routing systems. Aligned with a highly motivated and trained professional workforce, we bring our customers the best customer service with much of our success due to our professional, team-orientated drivers and warehouse workers. Operative Cake has been doing business since 1940 and is wholly owned subsidiary of Grocery Haulers.

Position Description:

Perform an array of functions that include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse

· Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise

· Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area

· Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according to organizational standards

· Open bales, crates and other containers

· Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.

· Wear the proper safety equipment

· Physically demanding – must be able to lift between 10lbs. to 40 lbs., stand for a long period of time, bend and lift
