QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate, with proper endorsement(s) in assigned area(s), Criminal justice fingerprint clearance. Masters in Mathematics as well as ability to teach upper level high school math including College in the High School courses.

• Use district adopted curriculum and assessments
• Must be punctual and dependable, able to work well with others
• Follow School Board policies and procedures
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate effective high school instruction consistent with building and district curriculum/programs
• Participate in team planning, programming, and instructional activities focused on improving instructional practices and student learning
• Provide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testing
• Utilize district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculum
• Recognize individual students’ needs and provide appropriate strategies and interventions
• Foster and maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Cooperate with building principal and staff in implementation of comprehensive instructional and activities programs
• Develop instructional goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment
• Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents and the school community
• Participate in building and district in-service education/training programs
• Attend building/district meetings and conferences as required
• Other duties as assigned
